Premier doesn't have right to sell B.C. Rail

Premier must make sure that 51 per cent plus of taxpayers of are in favour of such a sale first

Re: Complaint a waste of time and money, Letters (April 18)

I think Ron Gladiuk is way off base. Under the democratic system, which I have heard Gordon Campbell and Christy Clark speak about on many occasions, they are only public managers and do not have the right to sell off an asset the size of B.C. Rail without first making sure that 51 per cent plus of the taxpayers of British Columbia are in favour of such a sale – as they are the rightful owners of B.C. Rail. I would say that if they’re preaching democracy, they should have enough common sense to practice democracy.

C. Stephenson,

Hope, B.C.
