The Chilliwack Chiefs may not be allowed to have fans in the stands for tonight’s extended training camp game against Surrey.
But young superfan Ian Sewell has made sure they’ll feel some love in an empty arena.
The 10-year-old created signs for each and every player on the roster, and they’ve been placed at ice level at the end of the Chilliwack Coliseum where the team comes onto the ice.
A Grade 5 student at Vedder elementary school, Sewell was challenged with the sign for newcomer Frankie Carogioiello, whose long name tested his spelling skills and his ability to fit 12 letters onto his poster board.
Sewell was able to get his sign for Mathieu Caron signed by the Chiefs goalie.
Chilliwack faces off against the Surrey Eagles with a 7 p.m. puck drop.
The Chiefs beat their Mainland division rivals by scores of 6-2 and 5-2 last weekend at the Coliseum.
