Hope’s Bantam hockey team, the Wild Cats, played their hearts out this season, and it showed as they skated their way to the finals of the P.C.H.A. Bantam “C” F.V.E Playoff Championship, winning the 2018/19 season banner.

“It’s pretty cool,” explained their coach, Keven Duncan. “The winners will have their names embroidered onto the banner, which will be hung up in the Hope arena.”

The 14-player team, which comprises both boys and girls, competed against teams from Abbotsford and Chilliwack in an 18-round round robin .

“They played each team six times in the playoffs,” Duncan explained. “They did good –they’re a really good team.”

Overall, they finished the championships with 14 win, two losses, and two ties.

The Hope Minor Hockey League re-opens registration for the 2019/2020 season in April.

In February, the team cleaned up at a tournament where they finished with a perfect record of three wins and zero losses.
