Chilliwack’s Miah Schuurman, Langley’s Kyanna Knodel and Burnaby’s Ankita Chopra have all signed on with the club.

“With these three we have taken a big step in solidifying our programs future success on and off the court,” stated UFV head coach Al Tuchscherer.

Tuchscherer said this trio keeps the competitive spirit of Cascades basketball alive and added that he believes that this is one of the more athletic recruiting classes the school has ever had.

She has helped lead the team to back-to-back second place finishes at the 1A provincial championships, while also being named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player both years. She played club with Port Coquitlam’s Excel Basketball.

Knodel, a 6-foot small forward, has been a starter since her Grade 11 season with the Walnut Grove Gators, where she helped the team reach the 2023 4A provincial championship final, and was named a second team all-star.
